look at this thing.
as i search through my head for a word to describe
the week for me i just cant find the right word.
its incredible. for me at least.
its the week of good friday, discovering jesus week,
tmr's easter sunday.
and this is also the week where many things have
triggered new thoughts in my spinning head.
its so cool yet feels kinda scary.
"if knowledge is not thoughtfully absorbed when
you are young, then you may never learn."
this. is what i saw during tuition today.
it was on my tutor's calendar.
whoa.
as i have mentioned previously,
i just started on the book Time Traveller's Wife
this week.
its all about time. going back to the past every now
and then, being the future even though its not time
to know. knowing the future though it is beyond
your control to change the events.
and then during lit this week, we compared Beatty
to Satan, and then ironically the next day, Jesus.
look at the stark contrast.
its as if it was meant to be. well maybe it was.
we talked about Satan and Jesus and God.
mrs ng came up with probing questions.
which obviously is significant to my faith with
regard to being a Christian.
so many questions without answers.
and we also talked about knowledge. whether
it was good or bad. Beatty inhibited knowledge
from the people, well so did God.
and both gave free will. so this leads me to
thinking if knowledge is good or bad since God
must be good and why didnt he want Adam
and Eve to have greater knowledge.
and here comes the last part.
yesterday we watched the movie knowing.
you have no idea how affected i was by the show.
but i didnt really reveal my perplexing thoughts
to everyone of course. its erm kind of personal?
and i was busy thinking hard til i gave up and
decided to put it off.
funny thing. in the movie it was questioned
if things happened randomly by coincidence/chance
or were predestined for a purpose?
and it totally leads me to thinking the same about
this special week.
the movie infused plenty of ideas from the Bible!
i just went online for further answers and
i actually discovered that there were even more
significant bits and pieces here and there
relating to stuff from the bible and so many things
mean so much.
it also brought up the question of what free will entails.
as i have just read the interview with the author
online. haha.
what was intended, to be infered, and interpreted?
ah. overwhelming indeed.
and looking forward to what church brings tomorrow.
can this get any further? (:
"Knowing truly is a journey through what it means to really know.
It is a very intriguing and heavily spiritual film
that made me think very hard about
what it means to know anything, past, present, or future.
Although it falls short of spelling out anything specifically,
I believe that if you watch with the mind of a follower,
pointed toward Christ,
you too will clearly see a vision of God's hand at work,
even in the most catastrophic of disasters "
