Strengthen Yourself In God

all you who hope in the LORD.(Psalm 31:24)
Beloved! Many times we get disappointed or frustrated when things don’t happen our way. We begin to think in the negative as fear sets in. The Bible encourages us not to lose heart during such times but take courage and pursue to do God’s will. Then the Lord shall reward us (Isaiah 35:3). King David always strengthened himself in the Lord at all times. Once, his army of men forsook him and he was lonely. But he did not allow depression to take over him but strengthened himself in the Lord. The Lord enabled him to recover all that he lost (1 Samuel 30:6,9). Once, Pope John XXIII, the head of the Catholic Church wanted to bring a new proposal before his church leaders for their approval. That night, he could not sleep since he doubted whether the church leaders would approve it or not. He was walking to and fro in his chamber wondering as how to implement his new proposal. At that time, he heard a soft voice saying, “Little John, go to sleep.” When he heard this, he wanted to know from where that voice came from and who called him at that time. He remembered that his mother used to say those words lovingly to put him to sleep when he was a little boy. He quickly realised that it was Lord Jesus speaking to him. Soon, a divine peace filled his heart and he went to sleep. The next day, all the church leaders assembled for the meeting. When he brought the new proposal before them, nobody opposed but approved it unanimously. God strengthened him and perfected everything for him. Beloved! You may be in confusion and troubles wondering what to do. Be of good courage and trust in the Lord. The Lord will strengthen you and enable you to overcome your fears. The Bible says, “Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the LORD” (Psalm 31:24). The Lord will speak to you and strengthen you and enable you to overcome your fears. The Lord shall grant you peace and perfect that which concerns you.
Prayer:Loving Heavenly Father,I ask You to strengthen me to overcome the problems in my life. When King David was lonely and helpless, You strengthened him and gave him victory. Father, help me not to believe in circumstances however bad it may be or in the negative words of the people but to trust in You as You have the power to change the circumstances. Let Your peace and grace fill me. In Jesus’ name I pray.
